What we collect when you use this site, why we have it, and how to get rid of it.
Who we are
YS Online Ltd, company number 10861515, VAT GB 273 6245 93, registered at 249 Katherine Road, London E7 8PP, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for anything you send us through this site.
What we collect, and only when you send it
There is no account to create and nothing to buy on this site. The only personal details we hold are the ones you type into an enquiry, the contact form or a catalogue request:
- Your name and company
- Your email address and telephone number
- The country and port you are buying for
- Your preferred Incoterm
- The products and quantities on your enquiry, and anything you write in the message
We use it to price your enquiry and reply to it, or to email you the catalogue you asked for. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone for marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote or the catalogue.
Analytics, only if you agree
We use Google Analytics to see which products get looked at, so we stock the right things. It is off until you press Accept on the cookie bar. If you decline, or ignore it, no analytics cookie is set and Google receives no identifier for you.
If you do accept, Google processes that data on our behalf, which involves a transfer to the United States. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the bar back.
Who else touches it
Our website and email are hosted by Hostinger in the EU. Enquiries and catalogue requests are also copied into a Google Sheets spreadsheet, so we can keep track of who we owe a reply; Google stores that for us, which can involve a transfer outside the UK. Google also provides analytics, as above. Nobody else.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence while we are dealing with you and for a period afterwards, so that we can pick up a repeat order and meet our own tax and customs record-keeping duties. Ask us and we will tell you exactly where yours sits.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Emailinfo@ysonlineltd.comor write to the address above and we will deal with it within a month.
If you think we have handled your details badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
